Wir haben einen gemeinsamen und dauerhaften Rahmen zur Betreuung und Ausbildung von Promovierenden in der Astronomie und Astrophysik an der Universität Potsdam (UP), am Leibniz-Institut für Astrophysik Potsdam (AIP) und am DESY/Zeuthen aufgebaut, um die Promovierenden optimal für eine Karriere in Forschung und Technik vorzubereiten. Die Promotionsordnung ist von dieser Vereinbarung nicht berührt.

Die strukturierte Doktorandenausbildung besteht aus gemeinsamen Veranstaltungen der Doktoranden, speziellen fachlichen Lehrangeboten sowie Trainingsprogrammen in sogenannten "Soft Skills", die in Zusammenarbeit mit der Potsdam Graduate School angeboten werden können. Für jeden Doktoranden soll ein Betreuungskomitee eingerichtet werden, auf dessen jährlichen Treffen der Fortschritt der Arbeiten dokumentiert werden soll.

We have established a common and lasting framework for the supervision and training of doctorate students in astronomy and astrophysics at the University of Potsdam (UP), at the Leibniz-Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP), and at DESY/Zeuthen with a view to optimally prepare our students for a professional career in research and technology. The stipulations and rules of this program are not in lieu of, and do not supersede, the regulations for doctoral studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at UP.

The structured program is composed of a series of joint colloquia and seminars, advanced lectures, and soft-skill training offered by our staff or the Potsdam Graduate School. A supervision committee shall be established for each student, at whose annual meetings the progress of the student shall be documented.
